FREEDOM FROM CHRONIC PAIN

Everyone suffers pain … some, like me, suffer physically. But, everyone has experienced pain of some

sort from emotional wounds, guilt, condemnation, and fear. Pain originated in the Garden of Eden

when sin separated Adam and Eve from the close relationship they had with God. Sin still separates

mankind from God – and causes pain.

The Bible says

“everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23

The Bible also says,

“the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9

So you see, we all live with incurable chronic pain – a heart broken by sin. But God provided a remedy for this pain; His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus came to earth to bear our hurts, faults, brokenness, and pain by becoming sin Himself.

“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might

become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

Jesus suffered a great deal of pain on the cross – physical and separation from His Father God. But, the pain was part of the plan to bring healing and forgiveness to us; to bring us back into a  relationship with God.

“Surely He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered Him

punished by God, stricken by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was

crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5

There is healing available for our most inner deepest pain. We can be forgiven and experience true peace even in a physical body that is wracked with pain. Jesus says,

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:2

Do you want that? Do you need that?

If so, ask Jesus to come into your life and remove the pain and hurt by praying this

simple prayer:

Dear Jesus,

I am a person who lives every day in pain without You.

I realize that much of my pain is from a heart

broken by sin and separated from God. I desperately need healing.

Please forgive me of my sins and mend my

broken heart. Thank you for dying for me to heal me of my sins.

Come into my life with your healing power and

transform me into your adopted child. I need You, Jesus; and I love you.

Thank you for hearing my prayer.

In Your precious name,

Amen.
